Game 3: Too much of a good thing?

Ok, seriously, if I wasn't worried after the last post, I am now. Last night, the Nomads trounced the Rockets 10-2. If the world doesn't end soon, then this must be some sort of cruel dream, one that me and the Nomads are eventually going to wake up from. But in the meantime, I think I could get used to this winning thing.

So, this one-sided win further reinforces our first place standing. Our record currently is 2-1-0 (wins-losses-ties) with an actual POSITIVE goal differential (# goals scored - # goals given up) of +2! That means the ball is seeing more time in our opponent's net than in our own. I don't know if the Nomads have ever had a positive goal differential in our entire history.

Next week we'll be playing long-time rivals, the Mongrels, and that should be a good, but tough match for us. Actually, looking at the Fall 2006 record, both times we played the Mongrels, they beat us 4-7. So if recent history is any indicator, the Mongrels might be favored to win. But, looking at it from a statistical point of view, chances are the Mongrels are overdue for a loss and conversely, we're overdue for a win. I guess next week's match will decide which is more powerful: History or Mathematics.

That's a heavy burden for a dinky little soccer game to shoulder.

Meanwhile, in other academic disciplines, look who's violating the laws of physics again...(compliments of Al Jazeera)
